Interfacing iStow with Eco Assistant (DNV-GL)
Eco Assistant is a trim-optimization program of DNV-GL (Hamburg) to enhance fuel efficiency of ships. iStow is a stowage planning program, to allocate cargoes on board a ship.
Interfacing iStow and Eco Assistant would bring benefit for shipowners. Eco Assistant produces a recommendation on which trim, a ship is supposed to achieve the best fuel efficiency. This recommendation would flow seamlessly into iStow in order to execute it.
This project is underway now to build an interface between them. Over 35 hulls of a tanker have been reconstructed. Hydrodynamic modeling will take place by next week.
Mid of 2021 the interface iStow-Eco assistant is scheduled to be ready for use.
